  • COLEMAN ET AL., 2015

“Minimizing lean mass loss is an important health and safety consideration in order to maintain strength and physical function and also to maximize basal metabolic rate for long-term weight maintenance.”

  • PAN ET AL., 2017

“Body composition measurements can provide information on fat, muscle content, and basal metabolic rate, which can be used for weight loss programs and follow-ups.”

  • CSONTOS ET AL., 2017

“Monitoring body composition regularly helps to personalize nutritional plans and reduce the risk of malnutrition and sarcopenia, resulting in a better quality of life for our patients.”

Muscle Fat Analysis txtline

It lets you show your client how their body composition compares against people of the same height and gender. For many people, this section of the Result Sheet is one of their favorite sections. Why? Because it allows you to categorize different body types more easily. This section makes it simple for you to give your clients a good, general idea about their current overall body composition and what changes they need to make.

  • SKELETAL MUSCLE MASS (SMM)

    • The total weight of your client’s Skeletal Muscle. These are the muscles that can be grown and developed through exercise. Unlike LBM, which includes everything that isn’t body fat, you can view an increase in SMM as actual muscle gain.

  • BODY FAT MASS

    • This is how much body fat your client has, and combines both the surface level and internal fat.The Muscle-Fat Analysis also tells you whether your client has a healthy balance of SMM and Body Fat Mass in respect to his or her weight

Segmental Lean Analysistxtline

Your Magnifying Glass
Segmental Analysis provides body composition data in segments in addition
to the usual full body analysis.
For example, the InBody technology divides the body into five segments or
“cylinders”: the two arms, two legs, and the trunk (the area between the neck
and legs.)
Anyone can theoretically be underdeveloped/overdeveloped (depending on your body goals) for certain body segments. The good news is that segmental analysis allows you to identify and compare these segments. The Segmental Lean Analysis graph is an effective and informed assessment of lean mass distribution within the five segments of a user's body. This helps professionals closely monitor changes and make adjustments as necessary.

Segmental body analysis is particularly useful for anyone who wants to measure and track their body composition progress. However, it can prove extremely beneficial for the following groups:

  • Anyone who is trying to build or rehabilitate a particular body part such as athletes and patients with certain disease conditions.
  • Athletes who want to assess the specific impact of their training reg-imens.
  • Sedentary adults who want to monitor and track their diet/exercise ef-forts
  • Skinny Fat” individuals who want to improve their body composition.

OBESITY ANALYSIStxtline

You can show your client their body fat percentage to help them under-stand their health and fitness better. The Obesity Analysis includes the signature metric of any body composition analysis: Percent Body Fat (PBF).

It’s a deceptively simple metric – a division of body fat mass by total weight – but it is a much better indicator of the risk of obesity than BMI, which is one of the major reasons BMI is still included in the analysis – to highlight its flaws by comparing it to PBF.

Knowing how much you weigh tells you very little because two people can have the same weight but have completely different body compositions and health risks. Your body fat percentage (PBF) puts your weight into context, telling you far more about yourself than how heavy you are.

Understanding your body fat percentage helps you decide which of the two goals that reflect healthy body composition changes – increasing Lean Body Mass and decreasing Fat Mass – you should be working on. It’s difficult to point to any single “ideal” percentage because what may be ideal for a bodybuilder may be different than what’s ideal for a soccer player. For this reason, ranges are used to give people an idea of where they stand in terms of health.

•For men: 10-20% is considered normal/healthy
•For women: 18-28% is considered normal/healthy

These ranges may vary depending on who your source is. Knowing where your body fat percentage falls in these ranges can be very helpful for you to decide how to improve your overall composition

WHAT SETS US APART txtline
  • value_icn_1 DIRECT SEGMENTAL MEASUREMENT (DSM)

Direct Segmental Measurement (DSM) measures water, muscle mass and fat mass in the body in five segments: Right Arm, Left Arm, Right Leg, Left Leg and Trunk. By measuring each segment of the body separately, InBody provides an in-depth analysis of the patient’s muscle-fat and fluid balance in each segment independently. Identifying the patient’s lean and fat distribution allows a better assessment of associated health risks while segmental ECW/TBW can be used to identify systemic or localized inflammation resulting from injury, underlying health conditions or surgical complications.

  • value_icn_2 MULTIPLE FREQUENCIES

InBody devices utilize multiple frequencies to measure body water more accurately. These high and low frequencies measure both intracellular and extracellular water, producing precise measures of each body water compartment. With accurate fluid measures, InBody can be used to identify fluid imbalances or water retention stemming from inflammation or injury as well as monitor changes resulting from exercise interventions and recovery.

  • value_icn_3 8 POINT TACTILE ELECTRODES

InBody uses an 8-Point Tactile Electrode system to ensure that measurements always start in the same place, test after test. This technology creates precise and reproducible results, ensuring that the results obtained are a direct outcome of clinical recommendations and interventions, rather than error.

  • value_icn_4 NO EMPIRICAL ESTIMATIONS

InBody does not rely on empirical estimations based on age, gender or ethnicity to predict results. With the high level of accuracy and precision achieved with the aforementioned technological advancements, InBody removes population-associated assumptions when determining body composition to ensure results are based solely on the individual, increasing sensitivity to the individual’s unique makeup of muscle and fat, enabling effective tracking of changes.
