Why attend

Where weight and BMI stop being useful

In edema, cachexia and renal failure, body weight hides more than it shows. This symposium covers what body composition and fluid measurement add to clinical decisions in severe disease.

01

Fluid status you can quantify

ECW/TBW ratio and segmental body water to track edema, fluid overload and dry weight in critically ill and dialysis patients, alongside clinical examination.

02

Sarcopenia and cachexia, measured

Skeletal muscle mass and phase angle as objective markers in ICU, oncology and CKD, where body weight and BMI mislead.

03

Multidisciplinary faculty

Critical care, nephrology, oncology and clinical nutrition sessions, with a cross-specialty expert panel on precision patient care.

04

Measured on the day

An InBody testing desk runs through the day and the live demonstration walks through the result sheet, so what the faculty teach is applied to real data.

Building on three editions across India

The Mumbai symposium follows Ácademia Indore 2024, NutriBodyCon Mumbai 2025 and the Met-Body Masterclass in Kolkata in January 2026. The photographs below are from all three events, bringing together clinicians and dietitians across India for advanced body composition learning.

From past delegates

What clinicians took back to practice

My interest was narrow: fluid status in the critically ill. The ECW/TBW discussion was more useful than I expected from a one-day meeting, particularly on interpreting serial measurements in edematous patients.
Consultant, Critical Care Medicine Chennai · Ácademia Bangalore 2023
Explaining ECW/TBW ratio to a patient in one sentence is a skill nobody teaches. I now open every review consultation with the phase angle trend rather than the weight.
Senior Clinical Dietitian Pune · Ácademia Indore 2024
In bariatric follow-up, the question is always what the patient is losing. Seeing skeletal muscle mass hold steady while fat mass falls changed how I counsel at every visit.
Consultant Bariatric & Metabolic Surgeon Mumbai · Ácademia Bangalore 2023
The segmental lean analysis session made me chart left-right asymmetry in post-operative patients, which I had simply never looked at. It is on my standard follow-up sheet now.

Questions

Before you register

Who should attend?
Practising physicians, particularly in critical care, nephrology, oncology and internal medicine, and clinical dietitians managing patients with severe or chronic disease. The content assumes clinical experience; it is not an introductory course.
Is there a registration fee?
No. Attendance is free. Prior registration through the online form is required, as seating at the venue is limited.
What are the timings?
The programme runs from 13:45 to 20:00. The inauguration is at 13:45 and the first scientific session begins at 14:00. Will I be measured on the day?
Yes. An InBody testing desk runs through the day for body composition and body water analysis, and the live demonstration session walks through how to read the result sheet.
Do I need prior experience with BIA?
No. The programme opens with measurement principles (body water analysis, ECW/TBW ratio and phase angle) before moving into disease-specific application.
Is there a certificate?
Yes. A certificate of participation is issued to delegates who attend the full programme.
What should I wear?
Business attire. Body composition testing requires removing shoes and socks, so plan footwear accordingly.
Will sessions be recorded?
No. This is an in-person academic meeting; sessions are not livestreamed or recorded.
